Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Born Wilma Jean Winters on March 16, 1946, in Oakland, California to William and Doris Winters. She was the eldest of ten children. She was like a second mother to her brothers and sisters, helping her parents care for them with lots of love and affection. She attended schools in Oakland. She met and married Alfred Amey and later divorced. From that union, they had three children: Pamela, Paula, and Alan.
She worked as a waitress at Lois, The Pie Queen; a grocery cashier for Safeway; a linen supply worker for California Linen Supply, and various other jobs, including being a stay home mom. Wilma had a big personality and was the life of any gathering. She loved to laugh, cook, and eat good food, especially desserts. She had an awesome sense of humor. She acquired the nickname Mama BB from her daughter, which became known to all the grandchildren and others who knew her well. She also would tell people her name was Wilma, “like the Flintstones.”
She joins her Mother Doris Winters, Father William “Smiley” Winters, Three Sisters: Debra Winters, Dakota Winters, Diana Winters, and her only son Alan Amey in Heaven.
